What is the difference between a wet room and low profile shower room?
The term wet room is used to describe a level access shower arrangement where the shower is all on the same level. You do not need to step over a tray when getting in or out of a wet room as they are on the same level as the bathroom floor.
Whereas, a low profile shower room is where a shower tray is fitted, thus creating a small step. A wet room facility is needed when the client is a wheelchair user or is very fragile on their feet and any step becomes as a hazard.

How do you install a walk-in shower?

The process typically begins with removing the existing shower or bath, followed by preparing the floor for level-access entry. A waterproof membrane is then installed to prevent leaks, along with appropriate drainage to ensure efficient water flow.
Next, the shower panels, and glass enclosures are fitted, and any additional safety features such as grab bars, seating, or thermostatic controls are installed.
Finally, the plumbing is connected, and the shower is tested to ensure functionality. No, only the shower area drains. A sloped "former" is installed beneath the flooring in the shower zone to direct water towards the drain.
