Level Access Showers

Both offer step-free accessibility, but they differ in water containment:

• Wet Room: The entire bathroom floor is fully waterproofed (tanked) with a slope towards the drain, blending the shower space seamlessly into the room.

• Level Access Shower: Features a dedicated, pre-formed shower tray that is flush with the floor. It typically uses an enclosure or screen to contain the water within the specific showering area, keeping the rest of the bathroom dry.

We strive to complete most level access shower installations in just 3 to 6+ working days. This timeframe includes the removal of your old bath or shower, preparation of the sub-floor, installation of the new shower tray and wall panels, and final fittings and testing. We always aim to minimise disruption and ensure you are left with working facilities overnight where possible.

A Level Access Shower is the most barrier-free option, featuring a tray with a maximum lip of 10mm (or entirely flush). A Low Level Access Shower has a tray that is still very low, but typically features a small step or lip that is usually 40mm to 90mm high. While both are safer than a traditional shower, Level Access is the preferred solution for wheelchair users or those requiring the absolute minimum threshold.

The key advantage is the near-total elimination of the trip hazard. Level access means there is no high barrier to step over, significantly reducing the risk of slips and falls for individuals with balance issues or limited leg mobility.
