How does a Bath with a Lift enhance safety and accessibility?
This type of bath is designed for users who cannot safely transfer their full body weight. The powered chair lift allows the user to sit comfortably on the seat while outside the bath, be smoothly lowered into the water, and then lifted back up for a safe and effortless exit. This process completely eliminates the need to step over the high bath edge and significantly reduces the risk of slips, trips, and falls.
What types of lift mechanisms do you offer?
We offer two main types of lift mechanisms integrated directly into the bath:

Powered Reclining Seat: The seat lowers the user vertically, and then can be reclined (often electronically) to allow the user to lie back for a more traditional, submerged soak.

Hoisted Seat (often paired with a walk-in door): The seat moves vertically to lower the user safely into the seated position.
All lifts are operated by simple, waterproof controls and are designed for maximum reliability and ease of use.
Am I eligible for VAT relief or exemption on a bath with a lift?
Yes, if the bath with a lift is being installed for a disabled or chronically ill person for their personal use, the installation of essential accessibility adaptations is usually zero-rated for VAT (0%).
This means you will not have to pay the standard 20% VAT on the labour and materials used for the essential adaptation. Our experienced surveyors will confirm your eligibility and handle all the necessary paperwork during your free home assessment.
How much does a bath with an integrated lift cost?

The cost depends on the specific model, the type of powered mechanism (vertical lift vs. reclining), and whether you choose optional features like hydrotherapy jets. While the investment is higher than a standard walk-in bath, it provides maximum independence and safety. Are these baths suitable for use by a carer?
Yes. Baths with lifts are highly suitable for assisted bathing. The smooth, controlled lowering and raising of the seat reduces the physical strain on the carer, and the wide access doors make it easier for them to assist with washing and hygiene. What happens if the power fails while I'm using the bath lift?

This ensures that even in the event of a power cut, the lift will retain enough power to safely raise the user out of the bath. The lift mechanism will typically not operate if the charge is too low to complete the full cycle.
How long will the installation of a bath with a lift take?
The installation programme is typically completed in 3 to 4+ working days. This timeframe accounts for the removal of your old bath, any necessary plumbing and structural adjustments, the secure fitting of the lift-assisted bath, and thorough testing of the powered mechanism and safety controls.
