Powered bathing lifts explained

Effortless Bathing at the Touch of a Button

If you love to lie back and relax in a full-length bath but struggle to get up from a low position, a bath with a powered lift is the perfect solution. Unlike “sit-in” tubs, these baths feature a motorised seat or belt system. You simply walk in, sit down at a comfortable height, and use the waterproof handset to gently lower yourself right down to the bottom of the tub.

At EA Mobility, we combine luxury with advanced mobility technology. Our powered lifting seats allow you to enjoy a relaxing full-depth, lie-down soak completely independently. When you are finished, the seat lifts you back up to a standing height, removing all painful strain from your knees, hips, and back. It is the safest, most dignified way to enjoy a traditional bath.

The powered-lift advantage

Safety, Comfort & Peace of Mind

Battery Backup Safety

Safety is our #1 priority. All our powered baths are equipped with a battery backup system. This means that even in the event of a power cut while you are bathing, the seat will always have enough charge to lift you safely out of the water. You never need to worry about being left stranded.

Full Immersion

While upright baths are excellent, nothing beats the feeling of lying flat in warm water. Our powered seat baths enable you to recline fully, soothing your whole spine and alleviating pressure on joints. It is a true therapeutic experience that restores your freedom to bathe without assistance.

FAQs

Answers to some of the questions we get asked most often. If you can’t see the answer you need here, have a look on our FAQs Page.

What happens if there is a power cut?

Every EA Mobility bath with a lift comes with a built-in battery backup safety system. This ensures that even if the mains power fails, the seat will function to lift you safely out of the bath.

Can I lie down properly?

Yes. This is the main advantage over “sit-in” compact baths. The powered seat lowers you all the way to the bottom, allowing you to recline and stretch out just like in a traditional bathtub.

Is the seat comfortable?

Yes. We offer two types: a rigid seat for maximum stability, or a belt seat which retracts to let you lie right on the bottom of the bath. Both are designed for ergonomic comfort.

Are the controls easy to use?

Very. The bath is operated by a simple waterproof floating handset with large “Up” and “Down” buttons. It requires no physical strength to operate.

Can other family members use the bath?

Yes. The Stowbridge model is specifically designed for this; the seat lifts out completely, leaving a standard bath. Even with fixed-seat models, the seat can be raised high to allow showering.

Do I need special electrical wiring?

The bath requires a standard electrical connection (fused spur) located outside the bathroom “zones.” Our qualified electricians handle all of this work for you as part of the installation.

How much weight can the seat lift?

Our powered seats are robust and typically support users up to 20-25 stone (approx. 127kg – 158kg). We can check your specific requirements during the survey.

How long does installation take?

Despite the electrical elements, installation is quick. We usually complete the removal of the old bath and the full installation of the new powered bath within 2 to 3 days.
