Designed for Durability & Freedom

A wheelchair accessible shower requires more than just level access; it needs space and strength. We install specialist reinforced trays capable of supporting the weight of a power chair and user without flexing. With extra-wide entry points and absolutely zero thresholds, our designs ensure you can roll in and out smoothly, safely, and with dignity.

At EA Mobility, we understand that every wheelchair user has different needs. Whether you transfer to a shower seat or stay in a specialist shower chair, we design the room around you. We focus on turning circles, easy-reach controls, and carer access, ensuring your bathroom restores your independence rather than limiting it.

Designed around you

Key Features

Extra-wide entry wheelchair accessible shower 01

Extra-Wide Entry

Standard doors are often too narrow. We install wide sliding doors, heavy-duty curtains, or open-plan designs that provide generous width for easy wheelchair navigation without scuffing frames or knuckles.

Reinforced wet room floor for manual and powered wheelchairs 02

Reinforced Flooring

Standard trays can crack under the point-load of wheels. We use industrial-grade reinforced trays or structural wet room decks designed specifically to withstand the weight and movement of manual and powered wheelchairs.

Wheelchair accessible shower with half-height carer screens 03

Carer-Friendly Design

For those who need bathing assistance, we offer half-height screens. These split doors allow a carer or partner to reach in and help with washing while staying dry themselves, maintaining safety and privacy.

FAQs

Answers to some of the questions we get asked most often. If you can’t see the answer you need here, have a look on our FAQs Page.

Can I stay in my wheelchair while showering?

Yes, if you have a waterproof “shower commode” chair. Our floors are designed to be fully waterproof and level access, allowing you to roll directly under the shower head. If you use a standard chair, we can install a transfer bench.

Will the floor support a heavy power chair?

Absolutely. We do not use standard DIY store trays. We install specialist reinforced mobility trays or structural wet room formers that are tested to withstand high point-loads from heavy powered wheelchairs.

Is there enough room to turn around?

Space planning is our specialty. During our survey, we calculate the required turning circle (usually 1500mm for a full turn) and design the layout to maximise floor space, sometimes using wall-hung toilets to create extra room.

How do half-height doors work?

These doors are split horizontally. You can leave the top half open while keeping the bottom half closed. This creates a watertight barrier for the floor but allows a carer to reach over and assist you without getting wet.

Are the controls easy to reach?

Yes. We position the shower valve and diverter at the perfect height for a seated user. We also use extended lever handles and “cool touch” technology so they are safe and effortless to operate.
