FAQs
Answers to some of the questions we get asked most often. If you can’t see the answer you need here, have a look on our FAQs Page.
What makes a Compact Walk-In Bath suitable for small bathrooms?
Compact Walk-In Baths are specifically designed with a reduced footprint (typically shorter than a standard bath) to fit into tight spaces, such as apartments or smaller second bathrooms. While shorter, their design is deeper than average, allowing the user to sit comfortably and enjoy a full, deep soak without needing the length of a traditional tub.
How much space is typically required for a compact walk-in bath installation?
Most of our compact models are engineered to fit spaces ranging from approximately 1.2 metres (1200mm) to 1.5 metres (1500mm) in length, and standard widths (700mm-800mm). This makes them ideal for replacing existing short baths or fitting into small rooms. Our surveyors will measure your specific bathroom during your free assessment to confirm the exact model that will fit your space.
What are the key safety features of your compact baths?
The primary safety features are the low-level step-in threshold and the watertight, easy-access door, which eliminate the need to step over a high bath edge. Additionally, all our compact baths include a built-in, higher seat for easy transfer and bathing, and integrated anti-slip surfaces to maintain stability while entering and exiting.
How much does a compact walk-in bath cost to install?
The cost is determined by the specific model (e.g., inward or outward-opening door), the fittings you choose (such as hydrotherapy jets or specialised taps), and the complexity of the installation, including moving existing plumbing. A compact bath can be a highly cost-effective option, and we will provide a fixed, no-obligation quotation after your free home visit.
Am I eligible for VAT relief or exemption on a compact walk-in bath?
Yes, if the walk-in bath is being installed for a disabled or chronically ill person for their personal use, the installation of essential accessibility adaptations is usually zero-rated for VAT (0%).
This means you will not have to pay the standard 20% VAT on the labour and materials. Our experienced surveyors will confirm your eligibility and handle all the necessary paperwork during your free home assessment.
What is the difference between inward and outward-opening doors?
-
Inward-Opening Door: Uses the water pressure to create a tighter seal. It is a very secure, space-saving option inside the bath, but requires clear space outside the bath to stand while entering.
-
Outward-Opening Door: Offers the widest possible access and is often preferred for users with less mobility. It requires clear floor space outside the bath for the door to swing open.
We offer models with both to suit your space and mobility needs.
How long will the installation of a compact walk-in bath take?
The installation programme for a compact walk-in bath is typically completed in 2 to 4+ working days. This efficient timeframe includes removing your old bath or shower, fitting the new bath and its door seal, connecting the plumbing, and finishing the wall panels or tiling, ensuring minimal disruption to your home.
What warranty and aftercare is included with the installation?
We provide the assurance of our comprehensive Lifetime Installation Guarantee with every compact walk-in bath. This guarantee covers the quality and standard of our workmanship for the lifetime of the product, ensuring a durable, reliable, and leak-free bathing solution for your peace of mind.
